Sweet Arrow Lake County Park is one of Schuylkill County’s best examples of how much outdoor variety exists beyond the coal towns.
The park includes more than 180 acres, with roughly 60 acres of water, plus trails, bridges, picnic areas and a boardwalk.
Good for a walk or a full afternoon
The trail system ranges from easy paved and gravel paths to more natural routes. The Berger Dam Trail is one of the park’s longer options and connects with smaller trails.
Water is the centerpiece
Fishing, boating and lake views are a major part of the park’s appeal. The property also includes a boat ramp, gazebos, pavilions, playground areas and event space.
A different view of the county
Western Schuylkill County has a more pastoral feel than the dense anthracite towns farther east and north. Sweet Arrow Lake fits that side of the county perfectly.
