Schuylkill Technology Center Nursing Program Posts 92.59% First-Time NCLEX Pass Rate

Schuylkill Technology Center says its latest practical-nursing graduates cleared an important licensing benchmark at a 92.59% first-attempt rate.

The figure represents the program’s reported first-time pass rate on the NCLEX-PN, the national exam used in the licensing process for practical nurses.

STC runs its adult practical-nursing training from the North Campus. Students can choose an 18-month daytime schedule or a 24-month evening schedule, and clinical training takes place with health-care organizations around the region.

The school has been preparing practical nurses for the local workforce for decades and says applications are being accepted for another class planned for February 2027.

Why the number matters

A licensing-exam pass rate is one useful measure of whether graduates are prepared to move from training into licensed practical-nursing work. It is not the only measure of program quality, but it is an important outcome for students who have completed the program.

More context for readers (updated October 9, 2026):

Understanding a first-time exam pass rate

The NCLEX is a licensing examination used to evaluate readiness for nursing practice. A first-time pass percentage measures the performance of candidates in a defined group; it is not the same thing as an overall graduation rate, job-placement rate or the percentage of all enrolled students who eventually become licensed.

To interpret a figure such as 92.59 percent fairly, readers should look for the size of the tested cohort, the exam type, the reporting period and the comparison group used. Small classes can produce noticeable percentage changes from just a few results. A strong reported outcome is newsworthy, but claims about being the best program in a region require separate evidence. Students choosing a program should also examine accreditation, tuition, admissions requirements and clinical opportunities.
