Schuylkill League Soccer Playoff Race Tightens With Less Than Two Weeks Remaining

by | Oct 7, 2026 | Around the Skook | 0 comments

The calendar is getting short for Schuylkill League soccer teams trying to improve their postseason position.

League tournament play is scheduled to start October 17. In standings reported at the beginning of October, Blue Mountain occupied the top spot in Division I while Minersville led Division II on both the boys’ and girls’ sides.

Individual scoring reports also had Minersville’s Jordan Bowers atop the boys’ list with 72 points and Lourdes’ Karmen Schroyer leading the girls with 61.

Those numbers are a snapshot rather than a final table. Remaining regular-season results can still affect both standings and playoff positioning.

What to watch

With the postseason approaching, head-to-head results and any remaining divisional games become especially important. SkookPA will follow the final standings as the tournament field is set.

More context for readers (updated October 9, 2026):

What makes the final weeks important

As a soccer season approaches its postseason, each remaining league match can affect a team’s final standing. Readers should look beyond an isolated score and check the current division table, games played and any official tie-breaking procedures used by the league. A team’s total wins may not tell the full story when opponents and schedules differ.

For student athletes, postseason coverage should also recognize accomplishments that do not show up on a scoreboard, including defensive play, goalkeeper performances and contributions from younger players. Any claim about a leader in scoring or a team clinching a position should be tied to a dated, verified league record. Standings may change after this article’s original publication.
